Privacy & use
Your reflections belong in your hands.
BKL email accounts and optional encrypted saving
You can create a BKL account with a verified email address and password. Supabase manages authentication and Resend delivers confirmation and recovery email; email messages do not include your reflection text. Sign-in does not start a purchase or subscription. Existing ChatGPT learning access can be linked only after both accounts are verified and you explicitly confirm the link.
Optional encrypted saving is available in the journal and within the Selfhood & Individuation reflection and five modules. Only the work you review and confirm is saved. Unsaved writing and all other assessment and module worksheets retain their tab-only behavior. Saving stores ciphertext, your account identifier, pathway/module, revision and timestamps in BKL’s Supabase database in US East (Ohio). The hosting service processes these requests. Topic and size metadata remain visible. This information is used to provide saving, reopening, recovery and access control; it is not automatically shared with a therapist, partner or AI.
Your separate journal password and recovery key unlock saved writing on your device. They are not submitted to the storage API. Email account recovery alone cannot decrypt the journal. If you lose the journal password, recovery key and all unlocked sessions, BKL cannot recover the writing. Keep the recovery file private. Encryption does not protect an unlocked device or compromised application code; this implementation has not had an independent security review.
Each reflection or module has one current saved copy. A confirmed replacement overwrites that copy; it does not create an application history. Download any earlier copy you want to keep. You can reopen, replace, download or delete active saved work. Provider backups and downloaded copies are separate; deletion from backups and restoration handling have not been verified. For account or privacy requests, use Customer support without sending private reflection text. Account attempts use short-lived hashed request counters. No journal text or password is included in those counters.
Optional private workspace pilot
The owner-only private workspace is an exception to the tab-only worksheet behavior described elsewhere. Only text explicitly selected, reviewed and confirmed there is saved. It stores selected reflection fields, pathway/module, your Supabase account identifier, revision, notice version and save times in BKL’s Supabase database in US East (Ohio). The Sites host processes each request. Your account email and authentication are handled by Supabase; Resend delivers account confirmation and recovery email and does not receive your saved reflection text.
The workspace does not automatically import assessment answers, worksheet notes, AI reports or feedback. Other reflection tools retain their existing tab-local behavior. Saving is optional. Saved notes are available only through your verified account and the owner pilot gate; there is no partner or therapist sharing. Authorized infrastructure administrators may be able to access stored data. This is not end-to-end encrypted storage.
The current record remains until you replace or delete it; no automatic retention period or application-level text history is configured. You can reopen, download, replace or delete the active record in the workspace. Deletion from Supabase backups and restore handling have not been verified, and downloaded copies remain wherever you keep them. Public rollout requires further operational and privacy review. Test with fictional or low-sensitivity learning notes, without clinical records, client details or identifying information about others.
Redeeming a clinical reviewer code saves account-linked access records: module identifiers, a code hash, the redemption time, and the learning-terms version. The code itself is kept private. This does not store your reflections or assessment answers.
Anonymous clinical reviewer feedback
The optional clinical reviewer feedback form saves only the answers you choose to submit, your selected pathway and optional module, a random submission reference, the form version, and the calendar date. It does not ask for a name or email and does not store an account ID, IP address, browser fingerprint, or exact submission time with feedback. The form is reserved for invited reviewers and requires the same reviewer code used for learning access. The server checks the code before opening the form and checks access again when feedback is submitted. ChatGPT sign-in is not required. A secure, temporary access cookie lasts for up to eight hours; it contains a shared access proof, not a person or account identifier. Neither the code nor the cookie is saved with feedback. Changing the reviewer code invalidates existing feedback access. Any account information supplied by hosting is ignored for feedback. No analytics or third-party email service is used for feedback.
Responses are kept in the site database for Brian’s private review and improvement of the learning materials. They are not displayed publicly. No automatic deletion period has been set. Because responses are not linked to you, we may be unable to identify a particular response later. Please avoid names, case histories, and details that could identify yourself, clients, or colleagues; your own wording can reveal identity.
A shared hourly counter limits code attempts and submissions without identifying individual visitors. Hosting services may still process ordinary technical request information to deliver and secure the site. These limits mean that anonymity applies to the feedback record, rather than being a guarantee about all infrastructure logs. For private account or support matters, use Customer support.
Optional learner feedback
The Working Model of Love trial has a separate optional feedback form at Help improve the learning. It starts blank and does not import assessment answers, module notes, private correction choices or reports. Reviewing the form sends nothing. Only pressing Submit this feedback after your confirmation saves the displayed comments, a pressure-or-blame response if selected, the pathway and optional module, form version, calendar date and a random submission reference. No name, email, account ID, IP address or browser fingerprint is stored with this feedback. The form does not require sign-in. Your own writing may identify you; leave out personal histories and identifying details.
Submitted feedback is stored in the site database for Brian’s private editorial review. Brian can record a status, decision, change and review date in a private correction log. There is no automatic deletion schedule; because submissions are not linked to an identity, we may be unable to identify your response later. A shared hourly counter limits submissions without recording individual visitors. Hosting services may process ordinary technical request information. This feedback is not sent to an AI service, does not request clinical care, and is not individually answered. Private module reflections remain in your tab unless you separately choose to type something into this form and submit it.
Optional AI assistance · not activated for learners
All 21 BKL assessments and pathways offer independent learning by default and an optional AI-assisted mode in preparation. Selecting a mode does not transmit private content or activate a subscription. AI generation is restricted to a configured owner pilot and remains inactive until its configuration and privacy review are complete. The independent reports and modules remain usable.
An AI-assisted assessment report or module reflection requires separately selecting fields, reviewing their text and explicitly consenting before each request. An availability check sends no answers or writing. For module tasks, selected notes and relevant canonical lesson material would be sent through this site to OpenAI; other chats, account identity, partner accounts and unrelated notes are not included. No automatic analysis occurs while typing. Module outputs are requested one response at a time, without a chatbot, automatic follow-up or cross-visit conversation memory.
AI drafts can be mistaken, are not clinician-reviewed, and can be edited, rejected, downloaded or discarded locally. Changing source notes clears stale drafts. The site does not save submitted writing or AI output in application database records or application logs by these routes; short-lived request counters are kept. OpenAI provider retention is separate: abuse-monitoring content may be retained for up to 30 days by default, with exceptions and account-specific controls. Requesting no stored response does not guarantee zero retention. Read OpenAI data controls. Closing the tool, stopping waiting or discarding a draft does not delete provider records or promise cancellation of a request already sent.
Assessment responses
Responses and learning notes are held in the current browser tab. Independent assessment responses are not submitted to Brian or saved in an account unless you use the explicit Selfhood saving control described above. Optional AI submission follows the separate selection and consent described above. Refreshing or leaving may clear them. Download your report before leaving if you want to retain it.
Map Your Inner Patterns
This assessment holds your answers and edited map only in the current tab’s memory. It does not send them to Brian, an AI service, or your account, and does not persist them in browser storage. Use Clear my answers to remove them from the tool. Refreshing, closing, or leaving the page may lose your work. Downloaded copies remain on your device until you delete them separately.
Couples profiles and selective sharing
Individual relational profiles and cycle maps remain in the current tab. A joint workspace is visible to anyone using that tab; it does not create confidential compartments between partners. Full editable downloads include entered private writing. Selected-account downloads contain only the fields the participant chooses and acknowledges. Imported accounts require a fresh review and do not verify identity, authorship, consent, or safety. No assessment accounts are automatically linked and no reflections are sent for AI interpretation.
Downloads and sharing
Downloaded reports may contain sensitive information. Keep them on a device you trust. Share only what you choose; no report is automatically shared with a therapist.
Optional learning progress
When you choose Save this stopping point, the site stores a module identifier, section, and timestamp linked to your account. My learning displays this alongside verified purchases. No written reflections or survey answers are included. You can remove saved stopping points in My learning; removing one does not delete payment records.
Module purchases
Assessments and the introductory module are free. Other available modules are $19.99 USD each as one-time purchases. Sign-in connects purchases to your account. Square processes payment details and receives the selected module and an opaque account reference. Assessment answers and exercise notes are not sent with payment. Access checks use payment records; refunded purchases may no longer unlock a module.
Educational use
These tools support learning and reflection. They are educational reflections to support self-understanding and everyday practice, alongside individualized care where needed. Using or purchasing them does not by itself establish a therapist-client relationship. Existing therapy arrangements remain governed by their separate agreements. These tools are intended for adults 18 and older; responses are not individually reviewed by a clinician. You may skip or stop any exercise.
Clinical services and external links
Therapy scheduling opens Brian’s separate SimplePractice portal. External services have their own privacy practices. This website is not a channel for urgent support or confidential clinical messages.
Customer support messages
When you submit the customer support form, your name, reply email, topic, optional reference, and message are sent through FormSubmit to Brian’s support inbox. FormSubmit states that it retains a submission archive for 30 days. Email copies may remain in the support inbox; no fixed inbox retention period has been established. See FormSubmit’s privacy policy. Do not include clinical information, assessment responses, private reflections, or card details. Support messages are not a confidential clinical communication channel.
The site does not save the message body in its database. It uses short-lived, hashed request identifiers and attempt counts to limit spam; old counters are removed when subsequent requests are processed. Ordinary hosting and delivery-service logs may also apply. Use Customer support for questions about your support information.
Website hosting
The hosting service may process ordinary technical request information to deliver and secure the website. That is separate from the answers you enter into the reflection tools.
Learning boundaries and sensitive data
See Learning terms & boundaries for educational limits, safety, and purchase information, and the separate Consumer health data notice for account, purchase, and hosting data. Browser-only answers do not make all site activity anonymous. Checkout acknowledgment version and time are retained with the purchase attempt; no assessment answers are added to that record.
Attribution
Published articles retain their listed authors and publication details, including coauthored work. This learning site does not represent a transfer or determination of intellectual property rights.
